Here are 3 NOS Factory oversize case studs. This is a much stronger solution that helicoils, if you strip your case stud. The case side of the stud is the next size up to tap in your case. All 3 studs and box are $30. Length of the entire stud is 24 cm. Once inserted the stud will stick out from the case about 21.5cm $10 each

The 1973 and later mainshaft ball bearing is retained in its bore by the nose cone casting. However, the contact area is so small, and the magnesium of the nose cone is not strong enough to prevent the bearing from pounding a groove into the nose cone.
